PINK SLIP PARTY
A Pink Slip Party is a networking event that brings together job seekers and allows them to meet and connect with recruiters and employers. It is a tradition born in the United States that has evolved from 1910 when hundreds of unemployed workers gathered to commiserate being laid off, factories closing and the country being in a state of flux. The concept became popular again in early 2000 with the dot com crash and in the last year has enjoyed a global revival given today's challenging economic environment. Pink Slip Parties have taken on a new phenomenon cropping up not only around the US but internationally from Bangalore to Tokyo. Pink Slip Dubai brings this growing trend to our city.
Pink Slip Dubai is a unique networking group that facilitates job seekers and career changers to meet with leading recruiters and employers in the UAE. The group operates independently and is in no way affiliated with other global pink slip party events. We hold monthly networking events that are exclusively designed and managed in a way that brings together the right talent with recruiters and employers that seek such individuals.
WHY ATTEND
It is well known from research that up to 80% of jobs are found and filled through networking and Pink Slip Dubai aims to facilitate in this process. Attending the networking events offers job seekers with a platform to network with leading recruiters and employers and an opportunity to sell themselves in a casual interview process. For recruiters and employers events provide the opportunity to meet and screen top talent without ploughing through countless resumes online. And on top of this its a great way to meet new people, build on your UAE network and of course have FUN!
MANAGEMENT
Lourda Sexton, a Dubai based business development and marketing specialist identified a gap in the market to connect out of work professionals, recruiters and employers. Understanding the importance of networking and innovative ideas in this changing global climate and seeing the difficulties faced by out of work professionals trying to get in touch with recruiters led her to replicate this global phenomenon in Dubai. She has identified leading recruiters and employers who know how to help get Dubai back to work and organises events in a casual, relaxed atmosphere that promotes successful networking.

events is to provide job seekers with face to face access to recruiters and employers and to improve the dialogue between both groups. Job seekers are provided with pink name tags and recruiters & employers with blue name tags to distinguish between both groups.
